New Leadership at Oregon Shakespeare Festival

August 9, 2012

From the press release.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the next executive director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival will be Cynthia Rider, current managing director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Cynthia was selected after an exhaustive, year-long, international search for the best possible candidate to take the reins from retiring executive director Paul Nicholson.

Cynthia deeply impressed the OSF Board of Directors with her history of fundraising successes, strong financial management skills and charismatic leadership at both Kansas City Repertory Theatre and her prior employer, the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. In a visit to Ashland in July, Cynthia met extensively with members of the OSF company and the feedback from those who met with her was very positive.

On the behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to share how excited and confident we are that Cynthia will be a vital and highly successful leader for this organization, and a worthy successor to the phenomenal legacy that Paul leaves behind.

More details about Cynthia’s appointment are available in this press release.

Sincerely,

Rudd Johnson
President, OSF Board of Directors
