AUG 18: Barbra Streisand’s younger sister, Roslyn Kind, performs at The Grove Theatre in Upland, one night only, 8pm.


AUG 18: ONE NIGHT ONLY, Wicked Lit and Unbound Productions hosts a spoof of two of its plays and a fundraising poker night. Mountain View Mausoleum.

THROUGH AUG 22: “Robert E. Lee- Shades of Gray.” Los Angeles Drama Critics circle Award winner Tom Dugan returns in his solo play about the Confederate general. Directed by Mel Johnson, Jr.


AUG 24 – SEPT 16: Stephen Sachs directs Morlan Higgins in Athol Fugard’s latest THE BLUE IRIS at the Fountain Theatre. Fugard turns 80.


AUG 24 – SEPT 16: caryn desai directs Michael Hollinger’s west coast premiere of GHOST-WRITER at International City Theatre in Long Beach with Leland Crooke, Cheryl David and Paige Lindsey White.


 THROUGH AUG 24: “THE MANOR” Theatre 40’s critically-acclaimed, exciting drama of history, mystery and intrigue, will return for its tenth year to Greystone Mansion this summer, the scene of the original crime that inspired this fictionalized story by Kathrine Bates.


AUG 25 – SEP 2: Meet Me @Metro: Uncovering Los Angeles’ Hidden Treasures produced by Company of Angels, East LA Rep, Moving Arts, Rogue Artists Ensemble, The Vault and Watts Village Theatre Co.


THROUGH AUG 25: Michael Matthews directs All Your Hard Work  co-produced for Brimmer Street Theatre Company by Ken Werther and Michael Bulger. The play was developed as part of the 2011 Brimmer Street ‘Blueprint Series,’ and is a guest production at the Lillian Theatre.


AUG 25 – SEP 2: MEET ME AT METRO continues with Watts Village Theatre, a 3 hour tour of LA’s rich history interspersed with performances –


THROUGH AUG 26: MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION by Emmy winner Peter Lefcourt includes Bobby Costanzo, Gwendolyn Druyor and Gina Hecht, among others.

SEP 7 – OCT 7: David Emmes directs Alan Ayckbourn’s ABSURD PERSON SINGULAR at South Coast Rep.


SEP 8 – OCT 9: Shaheen Vaaz directs A WIDOW OF NO IMPORTANCE for East West Players.


THROUGH SEP 9: Coeurage presents Stephen Sondheim’s provocative musical about successful and failed assassins of Presidents of the United States. Originally produced Off-Broadway, Assassins was supposed to receive its Broadway debut in 2011, but that production was put on hold due to the events of September 11th. Directed by Julianne Donelle.  September 29 – October 28. THE WEST COAST PREMIERE of Sean Graney’s hit play. Originally produced by The Hypocrites theatre company, The 4th Graders Present an Unnamed Love-Suicide received a transfer to New York after a wildly successful run in Chicago. A truly dark comedy, the play is literally the suicide note of a ten year old, which his classmates are forced to act out. Director Joe Calarco was a cast member of the original production.

THROUGH SEP 16: OPEN FIST THEATRE presents its 4th First Look at Plays by Neil LaBute and others.


SEPT 20 – OCT 18: Thursdays only, THE LAUGH PACK. Bruce Fine hosts an all-star line-up of talent including comedy stars Cathy Ladman, Dennis Regan, 92-years-young Max Turell, vocalist Sonya Kahn, plus surprises. Buffet sponsor is Chipotle Mexican Grill.

SEPT 27 – OCT 28: “The Circle” Written by W. Somerset Maugham. Directed by Jules Aaron. “The Circle” captures the poise of high society in the 1920s with observations about the sexes and the nature of relationships that are as fresh and funny today as they were when Maugham was alive.


SEP 29 – NOV 18: Bart DeLorenzo directs Shakespeare’s CYMBELINE for A Noise Within.


THROUGH SEPT 29: Melora Marshall directs Deborah Brevoort’s THE WOMEN OF LOCKERBIE with Susan Angelo, Ellen Geer and others for Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga.


THROUGH SEPT 30: Serena Dolinsky directs DOROTHY’S ADVENTURES IN OZ at the Santa Monica Playhouse.

OCT 5 – 14: Ophelia’s Jump Productions brings AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY to The Grove Theatre in Upland.

JAN 24 – FEB 24: January 24- February 24, 2013. “7 Stories.” West Coast Premiere. Written by Morris Panych. Directed by Bruce Gray.

FEB 23 – MAY 11: Michael Michetti directs Frank Galati’s adaptation of THE GRAPES OF WRATH at A Noise Within.


MAR 16 – MAY 19: Geoff and Julia co-direct Sarah Ruhl’s EURYDICE at A Noise Within.


MAR 21 – APR 21: “Remembrance.” Written by Graham Reid. Directed by Tim Byron Owen. “Remembrance” charts the love that develops between a Protestant father and a Catholic mother who meet in the cemetery where their sons are buried, both victims of violence.


APR 6 – MAY 26: George Farquhar’s THE BEAUX STRATAGEM at A Noise Within.


APR 2013: In 2013, to celebrate the City of San Gabriel’s Centennial, the Mission Playhouse will present a fully‐staged version of The Mission Play. This work, set in California during the 1700’s, was first staged 100 years ago, ran for decades and drew millions of people to San Gabriel. More information


APR 15 & 21: Musical Theatre Guild presents A CATERED AFFAIR (Los Angeles premiere) at the Alex Theatre in Glendale on the 15th and the Scherr Forum in Thousand Oaks on the 21st.
