Comparing four-handers

They say the eye finds odd numbers of items more pleasing but a couple of plays with four actors caught audiences’ view because they deal with heavy subject matter.

Ben Burdick directs Joseph Fisher’s  A Wolf Inside the Fence at Open Fist Theatre in Los Angeles.  A high school history teacher and a halfway house student are simultaneously going through crises. “At its core, this play looks at our relationships with one another, how we affect others, our willingness and desire to help others, oftentimes without taking a very self-reflective look at ourselves,” explains Burdick.
