“Disney’s My Son Pinocchio Geppetto’s Musical Tale”

July 6, 2010

Sherry Kinison (sister-in-law of the late comedian, Sam) is prepping the legend of Pinocchio coming to life. The story joins Geppetto after his wish for a son has been granted. Geppetto discovers raising any child is a tall task and, overhearing the complaint, Pinocchio’s nose is bent out of shape and he runs away from home and joins a traveling show.

The production explores the relationship between the aging toy maker and his puppet as Pinocchio learns to be a real boy. Familiar songs include “When You Wish Upon A Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings.”

Barbara Henrichsen directs. Musical direction by Melanie Alpert and Zaylin Ellini Cano coreographs.

Fridays July 9 and 16 at 7:29 pm; Saturdays and Sundays July 10, 11, 17, 18 at 2pm. Tickets $15 adults, $13 children and students. (909) 920-4343 or the Grove Theatre’s website.
