MOTH Theatre is looking for Managing Director

Moth Theatre is seeking a Managing Director to work alongside the Artistic Director and Producing Director in managing both the company and their home at 4359 Melrose Ave.

Responsibilities of the position include:

–        Maintaining Moth’s financial records and enforcing the company’s compliance with its bylaws and legal requirements in coordination with our accountant and lawyer.

–        Coordinating Moth’s fundraising efforts, as well as the revenue streams we generate from production, venue rental, and classes.

–        Working with the chair of the board to schedule board meetings and implement a board development strategy.

–        Developing internal organization, process, and structure for the company in concert with other staff and leadership.

–        Implementing a marketing strategy for the company as a whole and individual productions in coordination with our promotions manager and our publicist.

–        Growing our education and community outreach programs.

–        Hiring and managing staff as needed to accomplish the responsibilities iterated above.

The ideal candidate will have:

–        1-3 years work experience in the administration of theatre.

–        Experience producing theater in either an academic or Equity-waiver setting.

–        A bachelor’s degree.  Master’s degree is a plus. 

Compensation will be as a commission based on company revenue.  The position will be filled as soon as possible.  Interviews will be conducted during the week of July 12.  Applicants should submit a resume and two references to benjamin@moththeatre.com no later than July 10.  Applicants will be notified on July 11 if they have been selected for an interview.
