Egan, Duffy and others in benefit concert tonight at Boston Court

June 7, 2010

Susan Egan (Beauty and the Beast), Michele Duffy (Mask, Can Can), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), and Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years) are just a few of the celebs performing tonight in Pasadena.

Producer Daniel Tatar explains the benefit is for colleague and family friend, Ana Adame, diagnosed this year with late-stage lymphoma.

When Ana was diagnosed with late-stage lymphoma this past February, her fears were not for herself, but for her son and his future.  The cancer treatments have been extensive and intense, keeping her away from work and family.  To celebrate Ana’s spirit and tenacity,  and to help her through this medical and financial crisis, her friends are putting together an evening of Broadway Cabaret at Pasadena’s beautiful Theatre at Boston Court.
This is sure to be one of the best cabaret events Los Angeles has witnessed in years as stars of stage and screen come together to offer a spectacular night of talent.  Performers scheduled to appear include Ana Ortiz (“Ugly Betty“), Megan Hilty (“Wicked”), Steve Kazee (“Spamalot”), Georgia Stitt, Jason Robert Brown, Susan Egan (“Beauty and the Beast”), Luke Menard (American Idol Finalist), and more.
Chris Bratten is the evening’s music director.  Chris has worked with many talented artists such as Shoshana Bean and Eden Espinosa (both “Elphaba” in Wicked), Zachary Quinto (“Heroes,” and the recent Star Trek movie), and Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother,” “Doogie Howser, M.D.”), among many others. Currently, Chris is the music director for Piano Barre, a unique cabaret experience which has shows twice a month in L.A., and once a month in Palm Springs.

The evening is being produced by Daniel Tatar.  As an actor, Daniel originated the role of Denny in the long-running hit Life Could Be a Dream at The Hudson Mainstage, which he will reprise this summer at Laguna Playhouse.  Other stage credits include Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings (Theatre @ Boston Court, also at Carnegie Hall in late June), The Last Five Years and Ray Charles Live (Pasadena Playhouse), Kiss of the Spider Woman (Havok Theatre), and the Reprise concerts of Elegies and Baby, among others.  Television credits include 90210, CSI:NY, Grey’s Anatomy and Real Time with Bill Maher, as well as commercials for Safeway, Budweiser, U.S. Cellular, U.S. Military, and America Online.

Seating for this very special event is extremely limited. Tickets here.
