LACHSA actors in Rope this weekend

June 3, 2010

It often pays to see tomorrow’s stage actors today. There’s an opportunity this weekend to catch some of LA’s most talented student actors when they perform ROPE by Patrick Hamilton.

LA County High School of the Arts’ (LACHSA) Theatre Department chose this 1929 British play to challenge its actors. The company describes it as a show full of thrills, chills, and excitement. You may be reminded of the Grand Guignol style of theatre (think “Absinthe, Opium & Magic”).

LACHSA’s student-run company, Bear Feet Theatre, stages ROPE at The Complex, 6476 Santa Monica Blvd. (east of Wilcox), Los Angeles on Friday, June 4 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, June 6 at 2:30 and 7:00 pm. Adults $15; students $10. Proceeds support the company.

Riley Smith directs. Cast includes Libe Barer, Thomas Bonuelos, Natalie Casagran-Lopez, Riley Ceder, Whitney Davis, Robin Howard, Brian Ioakamedes, and Ethan Larsen.
