Burton, Collins, and de Lancie on the state of theatre in LA: “expectations are too high”

April 22, 2010

When I recently spoke with Kate Burton, Stephen Collins, and John de Lancie about their roles in LA Theatre Works’ The Constant Wife, I asked the guys what they thought of the state of theatre in Los Angeles.

Kate joined us just a moment later. Rather than transcribe the 10-minute conversation, you can listen to it below.  Forgive us, we ramble on a little at the end.

Kate, by the way, is married to Michael Ritchie, artistic director of Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles, home of the Ahmanson, Mark Taper, and Kirk Douglas theatres. She is the daughter of the late Richard Burton and step-daughter of Elizabeth Taylor.

You can hear more of my interview with the actors here.
